The Smallbore Rightsight

The Smallbore Rightsight

The Rightsight, a 30mm front sight, was developed for high power rifle competition to have simply the best possible sight picture allowed by iron sight rules.

The Rightsight comes with an adjustable iris made by Gehmann. They are available in two sizes, 2.9mm - 4.9mm and 4.0mm - 6.0mm. This adjustable iris is the same as the Gehmann 520 iris in larger frame made to fit the 30mm Rightsight and the Ross beer can.

The Rightsight also includes a 30mm, .5 Crizal Alize anti-reflective lens, the most reliable and technologically advanced protection against visual distractions caused by unwanted light reflections, scratches and smudges. These lenses have been ground on optical center by an Optician to fit the sight barrel. This means when you take the lens out for cleaning it should have minimal effect on your zeros.

The Rightsight base has been redesigned to allow you to have the sight as low as possible for conventional rifles. This keeps your cheek-piece and position about the same as other sighting systems. It also has an added bonus for those of you shooting a T2K over the course. With the smaller base, you can now take off your forend tube for shooting offhand in the wind

The base is adjustable in approximate 5-minute steps. It also has index marks so you can tell where you are at any time. There should be enough adjustment so you can get the best head position on your gun and keep it there by making the big adjustments from yard line to yard line with the front sight and fine tune with the rear. There are two stem lengths. Standard for conventional rifles and long for Space guns and the T2K.

The advantages of the Rightsight are:
#1 quality of the .5 lenses, it is far better anything available in 22 or 18 mm
#2 light collection, you see things better
#3 fixed or cant adjustable level inside the tube along with your number board while you're on target.
#4 the new Gehmann adjustable iris is the same as the 520 in a larger frame.
#5 the elevator system is in 5 min. notches so there is not too much movement on the rear sight and cheek-piece.

  • 4.0mm-6.0mm
  • 5.5mm-7.5mm
Standard Base    [picture] $60.00
I personally like this option. You can get bases for each of your rifles and move the sight from rifle to rifle without loosing your zero. Available in .750 or .812.
Jumbo Base    $75.00
A larger version of the standard clamp style base. This base can accommodate barrels and bloop-tubes from .875 to 1.050 and will fit most smallbore guns and bloop-tubes. Call with your requirements and I'll make a base to match if I don't have your size in stock. This base can be substituted for the standard base in a sight package for $15 extra.
Dovetail Base    $60.00
Available for standard dovetail or 11mm Anschutz rail.
Rain Shade, front    [picture] $45.00
Protects the Rightsight lens from rain drops. The rain shade contains transparent disks with openings concentric with the aperture. You might get a rain drop on one of the transparent disks but you shouldn't get a rain drop on the aperture area of the lens. Your view through the aperture and the center of the lens remains unobstructed.
Sun Shade, front    [picture] $25.00
Sun Shade, rear, for use with Gehmann iris    $30.00
Lens (.25, .5, or .75)    [picture] $65.00
For you younger shooters, the .25 lens may work better than the .5. I personally tried the .25 in this sight and it wasn’t much help. Everyone’s eyes are different and it may work for you.
The Cant Adjustable Rightsight:
If you shoot with a cant you can now adjust the level to match your cant. This feature is an extra and should be noted when ordering. Cost is 25.00 for this option. For those of you who already own a Rightsight I can change your sight to a cant adjustable sight. Call for details.
