MicroSight installation and alignment
The Original SR MicroSight hood replaces a standard AR-15 hood. It is available in two thread sizes, 1/4-32 or 1/4-28 as found on most NM AR-15 rear sights. If you have questions about whether or not the MicroSight will fit your AR-15, contact Stallings Machine.
When you have the hood installed make sure it's in good alignment with the bore both horizontally and vertically. If your sight is pined you are most likely good to go. If your sight is standard you will see that the tension spring pushes the left side of the sight block back turning the sight to the left, your hood is aligned with the sight block.
When you look at the sight from the side you can tell if the hood is level with the gun. If it looks as though it's tipped down it will need to be straitened.
The best thing to do is have your sight pinned. Or you can simply twist your sight leaf a little to align the hood with the axis of the gun. The sight leaf is fairly easy to bend with the use of a sight alignment tool or screwdriver.
With the alignment tool screwed into your sight leaf look down the handle of the gun to see if you are aligned. If not just push the alignment tool until you have it strait with the gun.
Coming Soon! A new laser alignment system for the Original SR Microsight. This system was tested at Camp Perry this year with very positive results. Details and photos available soon.
